Narbik’s bootcamp in London and lab date

I’ve been quite since my last bootcamp, doing the excelent Narbik’s Workbook and IPExpert Workbook. I am sitting on the second bootcamp from 7 to 11 september in London as my lab date is the 22th september … Let’s listen now to Narbik now :)

The last day Narbik finish QoS (I miss this part, sleeping … :\) and then lecture on Multicast, with always a very clear way to explain. After lunch, we finish Mcast and Labs Strategy lecture start.

Narbik tell me that I have to focus on doing techno by techno, do switching and just do that, nothing else and then move on.

So will I change my previous roadmap ? YES ! I have booked the lab 22 september 2009, and will attend to the next bootcamp just before the date. Spain and Poland will be at the end of august has he said.

4 month will keep me really busy.

So how about Warsaw ? To rent a bike in Warsaw, is a very good deal ! I Negotiate 200zt for 7 days here , I   take the time to visit the old city. I book at Meksyk Hotel, it was really close to the Hector Training Center, really nice and clean place, may be next time we will have dual whiteboard.

I just can say that Warsaw is Green, everywhere. The last day of Daniel ( CCIE candidate from Romania, 2nd attempt next week  ), we’ve been to the old city and take a nice diner. I really like this guy, very funny and cool man.

Sunday, it was a raining day, ouch ! all day was like that. went to Arkadia to buy some *souvenirs* but it was a Holiday day … everything was clooooosed. Take a cab to the airport and bought some stuff on duty free shops and take the plane.

Back to Paris, the journey just start ! I have 7 printed workbook and 2 electronic to Finish, I’ll keep you inform !

Narbik’s quote of the day : “Dot not more, not less, anything you configure can be used against you”

Last word, follow Nickelby Thane CCIE Candidate, he just at Narbik’s Bootcamp !

Last picture, all Narbik’s Followerz !

Narbik’s Bootcamp : Day 3 and 4

Day 3 was all dedicated to BGP, I’ve been staying late Thursdays night to make some EIGRP and OSPF labs. The internet connection was disconnected around 3am. In the morning we’ve continue hands on labs and we cover a lot: optimization, peer-group, aggregation, route-filtering, BGP States and the list is long.
BGP Labs on the advance workbook cover all we have to know, like all topics, and after staying late, when I get back to the hotel, I’ve been so tired that I fall out directly on the bed.

Day 4
We’ve start the day on Rip side. He give us the new RIP Mocklab 2.0. I do know Rip but I learn some good double-0-7 trick has Narbik say.
On QoS, we spent from lunch to afternoon lectures and practice one lab. I can assure you that I have a better vision of QoS, specially Classification and Policing. He really take a lot of time to explain topics like classification, traffic shapping, policy, going really really really deep on each part. THIS GUY KNOWS what he’s talking about.
The first feeling is that after the end of the day, I wasn’t tired (May be because I slept more than 6 hours and the 3 cup of coffee that I take during the day and keep me on until now). Then when I get back to the hotel and start back Rip and some QoS labs, and I realize that I’ve learn so many much. WAW.
Last day tomorrow, finish QoS and, Multicast will be the main lecture.

Narbik’s Quote of the day “If you don’t listen, you deserve to fail”

BTW I changed the theme, hope you like it :)

Narbik’s Bootcamp : Day 2

It was a good nice day today, lectures was on OSPF and EIGRP.

We’ve start with OSPF and take most of the part of the day. We’ve been deep on many sections and Narbik did a nice work on explain it, specially areas and lsa types.

OSPF filtering was a long chapter that turns me really on.

Before the Filter chapter, we take a break. Narbik offer me a Red bull (thx Again!!) and we seat, speak about CCIE stuff and I ask him about how he feel on students from different country .

We start doing labs until 6Pm (I start directly Filter-lab) then EIGRP Lectures until 8:30 PM.

I stay very late doing other ospf labs, and start on EIGRP Mocklab-like (didn’t finish yet!).

Narbik’s quotes of the day and yesterday: “I don’t make lectures, He teach” and “IOS never lies”

I am still awake, may be because I never dring coffer and today I take 2 cup ….  Anyway tomorrow, we will be the guest of Narbik, and finish the day in the restaurant! I just can wait…..for BGP!

Narbik’s Bootcamp : Day 1

Wake up ad 7, take a shower and take my bike to the bootcamp place that I checked Saturday evening.

I arrived 8h45 at the center but they says that the location have been change! The manager found quickly someone to take me, me and my bike to the correct place by car. I walked into the csh.com.pl center and saw Narbik (know via the picture on CCIE Flyer post). 9h10, I missed nothing important, 11 Students was there. 7 Workbook with my name printed on it was waiting for me.

Narbik start to ask everybody to present themselves, lab dates and tell the weakness and where did they hear about this bootcap.

Well QoS and Multicast are always selected….

People came from UK, Romania, Germany, France ( me ! ) and Poland of courses. One have already pass the lab and will do it in July, 2 others have already attended in February bootcamp and will pass it in 3 weeks, some start the CCIE Track and some just came to improve network knowledge.

After the V4, I speedup to book for the end of september, I still don’t know I am going to make it, if it so, I will attend to the Dubai bootcamp at the end of August !

How about Narbik ? This guy is Really Funny, Even when the whiteboard is hard to clean. When he speak, it make you confident, you feel the CCIE lab will be a piece of cake, a long as you don’t screw it.. His English is pretty good and with no accent! He doesn’t speak fast and event at the back from the class, we can hear him very correctly.

So Narbik start to talk about CCIE general subjects then we jump to switching lab on the new color printed (and watermarked by our names!) Advanced CCIE Routing & Switching 2.0 until 1PM. These workbooks go in deep on everything, and new stuff is still coming, we’ve got also a new Etherchannel labs “beta”. The next Workbook and bootcamp in July will include MPLS/VPN. And I can tell you that new “Technology Focused MockLab” are coming soon and will be amazing !

Go to lunch in the canteen and back for L2 lectures.

As everyone says, Narbik wrote everything on the blackboard, and this guy got the “?” Question mark in his hand! Show you what exactly the option do and explain it clearly.

After finish some of the longest switching section, we’ve moved to Frame-relay until late 8PM.

I am just surprise how he can ALONE write down so many pages of Workbooks, mock labs, videos, Teach, respond to email and still have time to breath. Compare to other vendors

I just notice that the hotel was 5min from my hotel :)

Back to hotel and does some switching and FR labs, then bed …

Narbik’s 2.0 class booked!

I’ll be in Warsaw from 25 to 29 May.

So why I choose Narbik? Well Ethan Banks, CCIETalk, Matt Hill, Lucio Jankok, Carl Burkland, EDF , PetePacket, CCIE Form and so the list is long, they have been there and talk about it,  they all give me a good impression about the quality and the way of how Narbik teach, also the re-seat policy, and finaly the location… !

Narbik says that the new workbooks 2.0 are coming for the bootcamp in May, coming with the new V4 CCIE RS … I guess :) I got the Volume 1 yesterday, now it’s time to work!

Recent changes on the CCIE RS like OEQ, the v4 in a short time! The 360 Program fit of course the new changes, how about other vendors? Seem that IE are already taking care and make vseminare on mpls! Guess IPExpert guys are still busy to blog about it :)

update 1 : Ipexpert on the road of the v4

update 2 : My bad, ipexpert blogged about it on 06/05/09 !
