My CCIE study roadmap

It’s been long time since I passed the written, I change my job, and so on, … I am 10 month from the lab. Anyway, I am back on the road !

I bought the IPExpert BLS, and right now I am working on IPExpert Vol1 and waiting ( as soon as I register on the bootcamp ) for the famous Soup-To-Nuts … :

This is the first version my plan :

  • Complete vol1 of IPExpert / Narbik’s Soup-To-Nuts (to finish before 25 may!)
  • Going to Narbik’s Bootcamp in Poland (25/29 May 09)
  • Complete Vol2 of IPExpert / Narbik’s advanced RS Workbook (this summer)
  • Back To Narbik’s bootcamp (London or Amsterdam would be great)
  • Complete Vol3 of IPExpert / Mock Lab (Sept to Jan)
  • Brussels (Jan 10)

share with me what plan did you use or what you are currently using :)

Must have – The Administrative Distance

A Must have ….

When a router learn the a network from different sources, it use the administrative distance to build the routing table. Low is best.

Source Administrative Distance
Connected interface 0
Static route 1
EIGRP summary route 5
External BGP 20
Internal EIGRP 90
IGRP 100
OSPF 110
IS-IS 115
RIP 120
Exterior Gateway Protocol 140
On-Demand Routing 160
External EIGRP 170 (when EIGRP is redistributed)
Internal BGP 200
Unknown 255
